The Southern Arizona Tech Council is a non-profit organization formed in August 2000 whose mission is to promote and implement high-tech industry economic development and competitiveness in Tucson and Southern Arizona.
SATC has adopted the following goals in support of its mission:
- Undertake projects, programs and partnerships that provide direct economic benefit to the high-tech industry clusters operating in southern Arizona and their member companies.
- Assure that high-tech industry cluster business development initiatives are consistent with the Greater Tucson Strategic Economic Direction.
- Collaborate, coordinate and implement southern Arizona high-tech cluster business initiatives such as those related to technology commercialization, workforce development, R & D, education, manufacturing competitiveness, capital formation and supply chain development.
- Advocate and educate public policy makers regarding high-tech industry clusters economic development initiatives in southern Arizona.
- Initiate/coordinate high-tech industry cluster economic development funding opportunities for southern Arizona.
- Accumulate, report and market the outcomes of high-tech industry cluster activities.
